Higgs Young Architects designed the 20,000 m2 Warburtons bakery on a 4 hectare site, part of the Delta Park masterplan for mixed business uses for Gazeley Properties Ltd on a 9 hectare brown field site. The completed building comprises 14,000m2 bakery production plant, raw materials and bunded tank storage, 5000 m2 despatch and 1,000m2 ancillary accommodation and offices.  Employing 450 staff, the high tech automated plant  produces 1.5 million bread products per week. Higgs Young Architects were employed by Gazeley and Simons Construction for the first phase completed in 2002 and by Warburtons Ltd to complete the bakery in 2004-2006.
