The Lady Julian pedestrian and cycle  swing bridge linking  the Riverside to King Street Norwich was completed in 2009. The design by Higgs Young Architects, based on historic sheerleg quayside crane, is a key part of the 1997 Riverside masterplan which included 1km of new river walk and two bridges on the River Wensum. The masterplan relocated an existing road further inland  to create the riverside walk and frontages for restaurants, residential developments and public realm.
