The design extended the house with a contemporary steel frame, timber clad elevations with full height glazing. The accommodation and interiors included bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, gym and study.

This achievement marks the significance of the architectural designs from the 1980’s alongside the 17th and 18th century buildings creating an exemplar of mixed use regeneration combining unique and high quality new designs with historic restoration. The application for the listing was widely supported by historians, architects, residents and heritage groups including The 20th Century Society. The success of the listing was widely reported in the architectural press as a landmark architectural project of the 1980’s.
